The day before Interview, I have been informed that to buy the microphone which shown by Mr. Charles and it only cost likely RM100. They chose me is due to I am the person who stay around SS15 and the place was recommended by Mr. Charles is Subang Prade. After I received the ordered, I went to the shopping mall and search for it. I walked around the shopping mall and went through all of the shop which for example as, electric stuffs of shop, cameras shops even is the booth that in the center. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it which only cost RM100. What I found was around Rm400.
I shown the photo which send by my teammate to the worker and when I found the RM400 microphone, Immediately, I called to Jien Li and asked about it.
This is the conversation the we have made.
Me: "Do we need to buy that ? It cost Rm400. This is the cheapest one that the worker told me. If that you guys okay with the price that I will just buy it then."
Jien Li: "Erm.. Really arh? No cheaper one?"
Me: "(I asked again to the worker and he told me NO) NO."

Jien Li: "Okay, I will call you back soon."

I went out of the shop and search for the other one and that one cost like RM1000. Soon, Jien Li called me back.
Jien Li: "Hello, erm, Chloe, no need la then."
Me: "Okay, I try to search for it again, but by the way, I found another one which cost RM1000."
Jien Li: "Okay Okay, no need la then."

week 6 - Interview Pink Guy

On this day, 13th Sept , we went to Kaki Seni which is in Pavillion. I went there together with Wei Yi and Cong .. This is because it is part of the requirement for our final project which is for visual culture. After we done for everything, we were prosit to interview Pink Guy. We went there by Nick's car.

We start off at around 2.30pm. After we arrived , we were waited for him due to he was having his customer that time. By not wasting our time, we were walked around for have a look for all of the sculpture. Basically , all of the sculpture were done by one of the famous artist which Is Mr. Ch'ng. His work were all basically kind of ugly yet it looks quite nice somehow.

One hour has  passed and he was finished dealing with his customer. By so, we at sorted off to talk with him and introduce ourselves. Soon, we started our interview with him. We had prepared 10 questions basically. For the first 5 are been asked by Jien Li. The rest of 5 been askd by me. After done interview. We asked the information from pink guy which is about Mr.Ch'ng.

Luckily that Pink guy didn't not gets annoy by us and does help us up. He told that I will arrange for us to have an interview with Mr. Ch'ng. He gave us the informations that Mr. Ch'ng will be having an exhibition at Art Expo 2014.. He asked us to interview him over that because Punk Guy will be there as well. He will helps us up with some requirement that we need.

Finally, we did interview Mr. Ch'ng at the Malaysian Art Expo 2014.

As the moment we step in the Art Expo. we were kind of lost in there due to there is too much of foringe artist and all of the art work are totally attractive to us. We did like take around 30-60 minutes to search where Mr. Ch'ng place was.

We were introduce ourselves first then being our interview. Jien Li is the one who in charge in asking the questions. While Cong and me were in chrge on the video. we were trying to search for the better angel-to shoot out. Cong was the onw who recorded about what Jien Li asked, and me was the one who recorded straight toward Mr. Ch'ng.

Due to we couldn't find the cheaper mic, we decided to only use phone to recorded the voice.

Mr. Ch'ng seem friendly doing all of the process. While interviewing he did actually said or told that he likes the questions the we prepared. This is because that nowadays, teenagers wouldn't ask or even understand about the story behind and did not actually think forward to future. He was kind of appreciate with what we have asked. He though kind of deep and it does impress me (about the journey he came and the story behind the sculpture.)

Here are the sculpture that i have took a picture.

Week 6 - Discussion before Interview

We had an appointment with Mr. Charles as usual in class for every Tuesday. He was kind of relax with our group because we are the first group that done things that fast.

We done with the appointment that found by Nick and Jien Li which is on 13th September and he is located at Marc Residence Who are known as Pink Guy. This is because Nick's sister is always dealing with him for framing some of the artwork.

PINKGUY is phonetically derived from the Malay word "Bingkai", which translates to "frame" in English

WinSon Loh was born in 1968 into an average family where his father owned a furniture workshop located in Salak South, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
On one ill-fated Tuesday morning during the national chaos of 1969, one-year-old WinSon went for a drive with his parents that resulted in him never seeing his beloved father again. Armed strangers stopped their car and ordered his then pregnant mother and him to get out of the car. The armed men commandeered the vehicle and forced his father to drive the car to an unknown destination. This was the last that WinSon and his mother would ever see the man they loved and depended upon. These events led to great hardships and misery for the family.
As a fulltime housewife, WinSon’s mother hadn’t the ability to manage the furniture workshop and was forced to close the business. Facing the dire straits of not having an income, his mother was forced to become a housekeeper to support and feed the family. This was a very difficult time for her as the pay was minimal and she had to work day and night just to earn enough to survive.
Despite his impoverished childhood, WinSon did his very best in primary school and earned a scholarship that financed his tuition at the Confucian Private Secondary School. Having no money to pay for his bus fare and school meals, at the tender age of 12 years old he had to rise as early as 3 o’clock in the morning to work at the local dim-sum restaurant to earn RM 8 every week. While this afforded him transportation to his studies it wasn’t sufficient to pay for his daily meals. He would do the homework of the well-to-do just to get a piece of bread as sustenance to survive his school life.
Being a creative and talented lad, he participated in charity art exhibitions organized by his school. While the other children’s parents framed their work, he was the only artist participating who could not afford to do so. It was then that he made a promise to himself to one day craft his own frames.
As a teenager both working and studying became more of a commitment than WinSon was able to bare. His studies suffered and he lost his full scholarship. He continued working for the dim-sum restaurant and continued his education as best he could. However, at the age of 15 he quit school and was accepted into an apprenticeship as a frame maker. Throughout his teens he worked diligently to develop his knowledge and skill in the craft of frame making. However, being blessed with natural artistic abilities WinSon took the craft to a higher level, where the frame as well is a piece of art.
He took on a partnership and started a frame-making business in the early nineties. He has been recognized as the first 3-D frame-maker in Malaysia. When the McDonalds launched their Teddy Bear collection in 1999, WinSon created his unique frame to better protect and display the stuffed toys as collectables. He would hold a sample and hand out leaflets to customers queuing at the fast food restaurants.
